It was only a few days ago when I discussed about how to install Shaders Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10 . For those who are new, the mod adds the ability to use shaders in-game which gives more realistic lighting and shadows to the game. But, using shaders also requires a good computer with high-end graphics card which isn’t really accessible to everyone. That’s where Optifine comes into play! It gives the option to enhance Minecraft not just by adding more effects but by improving FPS as well. The performance drop is significantly lower than that of Shaders Mod, while still adding a good amount of eye candy to the game.
So how do we install this beauty? Here’s what you need to do:
1) Download Optifine from here .
2) Go to .minecraft/ bin and open Minecraft.jar with winrar or 7zip
3) Drag all the contents in Optfine’s zip into Minecraft.jar
4) Delete META-INF from the jar
5) Done!

How to use Optifine 1.17.1?
Once you have downloaded and installed Optifine, open Minecraft launcher and make sure to change the render distance to 8. This is required for most of the features to work properly. Other than that, all you need to do next is press F11 twice in-game. The first time turns on/off some extra shader effects while the second will allow you to see the FPS.
