Curious Elytra Mod 1.16.1, 1.16.2, 1.16.3, 1.16.4, and 1.16.5 is a mod that will allow us to maintain the protection offered by the peto, or breastplate, of the armor while using the Elytra wings. As you know, by default, when we want to use the Wings Elytra, we have to place them in the box of the armor peto, thus losing the protection offered by this part of the armor. Using armor and Elytra wings is now possible with this mod.
Well, with this mod installed, a new box is added to the character’s inventory, just to the left of the rest of the armor squares, where you can leave the Elytra wings attached. This way, you can use both objects simultaneously and plan by maintaining the complete defense offered by the armor.

Curious Elytra is a mod that uses the Caelus API and the Curios API to add a new slot, the Back slot, to the player inventory and allows the elytra to be placed into this slot, either directly or through right-clicking with the elytra held in hand. While the elytra is in this slot, it will grant the same flight capabilities as if it was in your chestplate slot. This allows the player to gain the benefits of the elytra without sacrificing an armor slot.
