Familiar Fauna Mod 1.12.2 adds a few strange creatures such as Butterflies, Turkeys, and Deer. They can spawn in the world and turn into your nutrition source.

It is a mod created by Forstride and Glitchfiend. It supplements various species.

Deer:

It is a passive mob, appearing in Forest Biomes where you cannot find Cows anymore. They have two sexes. Males have bigger antlers.

Similar to Ocelots, these will flee if they see humans. They can be bred with an Apple.

If they are attacked, they will drop 1-3 raw venison or cooked venison when they are on fire.

Turkeys:

They are also passive. They are living in the woods. They replace Chickens. The males own fan-like tails.

It’s possible to breed them with Seeds, Melon/Pumpkin/Beetroot Seeds. Obviously, they can reproduce with the opposite sex.

They drop 0-2 Feathers and 1-2 raw legs or cooker legs if they’re on fire.

Butterflies:

They are not active mobs. They inhabit warm lush biomes like Plains or Forests. They have 5 variants.

Catch them with a Bug Habitat using a Bug Net if necessary. They leave nothing if you remove them.

Here is the best guide to help you launch Familiar Fauna

• Firstly, make sure that you have successfully installed Minecraft Forge and Mantle Mod!
• Set the right location for the Minecraft application folder
  • From the Windows, please access Run on the Start Menu. Then, type “%appdata%” and choose the Run button.
  • From the Mac Open Finder, press down Alt and Left-click on Go -> Library on the top-screen menu bar. Enter the folder Application Support and search for “Minecraft”!
• Drop the mod Familiar Fauna that you have already downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods directory!
• After you embark on Minecraft and left-click on the Mods icon, you will find Familiar Fauna is set up!
